Fazley Hot Rod V2 FTD182YL-M Yellow Tiger Electric Guitar with Fixed Bridge

It's £80 and it's actually a fun thing so what's not to like! - yeah it was almost unplayable out of the box, the string action was horrible everywhere and the strings that came with it buzzed like a sitar on the higher strings. A new set of strings solved the buzzing, a neck shim and some gentle filing of the nut (which is made of play doh I suspect..... but £80!) sorted the action out and now it's a fun thing to play if you fancy getting your George Lynch on :-) The humbucker is surprisingly good for all things 80's metal, the tuners probably wont last a lifetime but it does stay in tune very well. The one thing that lets it down really - and the thing that makes it feel most like a cheap guitar - is the thickness of the neck. It's actually perfectly playable but it is VERY chunky and unrefined feeling but again..... £80. Affordable strat shaped guitars without a horrible cheap trem system are quite difficult to find so I got this to see if I wanted one as much as I though I did, and I do!, so I'm happy with my purchase. Did I mention it's actually huge fun to play?

I was amazingly surprised with this guitar ! Fpr the price its a great little shred machine , it looks great and the tone is pretty awesome in my setup but Ofcourse i cant call it perfect.
The guitar hums more when the volume is rolled all the way so I’ll probably change the pot and add some shielding tape in the cavity.
And for a guitar youd expect for 80s metal it only has 21 frets instead of 22 . Might ask bax to send me another neck one day who knows . Either way im keeping this one and planning to upgrade it. I didn’t expect the cheapest guitar in my collection to become a more regular work horse , i find myself playing it more than my jackson, harley benton, vintage and epiphone

Sadly I bought mine as a B stock purchase, I think it would have been a nice guitar except there was amassive lump ground off the bottom and the body was cracked beyond repair so I never got to play it

I grabbed this lil glam metal axe recently it came within a couple days of ordering which was nice

The tone pf the pickup of very decent for a guitar in this price range and works well with my amp and pedals, unfortunately the volume pot isnt the best, when rolled All the way off it makes a loud hum
The fretboard is a bit dry
I think the guitar couldve been set up a bit better before being sent off as a gopd set up makes a huge difference
The neck is thicker than my other guitars but not the worst next ive played especially for the price

I plan on upgrading it though which i would recommend

Deze gitaar is zeer goed gebouwd. Ziet er geweldig uit. De hals is perfect recht. De frets zijn gemaakt van goed staal en normale dikte. De hals heeft een zeer comfortabele vorm. Uiterlijk ziet de gitaar eruit als een Fender uit de jaren 80. De pickup klinkt erg goed, je hoeft hem niet te veranderen. De potentiometer werkt zonder problemen. De pinnen houden zich prima. Ik zet de grote CTS-potentiometer op volume. Ik ken geen andere gitaren van dit model, maar de mijne is gemaakt van esdoorn. Esdoorn lichaam. Voor mij is het beter dan linde. Het is vergelijkbaar met een Gibson Junior Explorer. Het heeft ook een esdoornlichaam. De hoogte boven de snaren is klein; het is mogelijk de snaren lager te laten zakken. De hals past als een budgetgitaar zonder enige pick-up of pasvorm. Als je de hals correct past, krijg je voor dat geld een instrument van goed niveau. Ik heb nog een grote CTS-toonpotmeter en een TAD-condensator toegevoegd. Hoewel dit niet nodig is, klinkt de gitaar super en op hetzelfde volume.
De potentiometer werkte goed. De gitaar had een minipotentiometer. Ik heb hem vervangen door een exemplaar van volledige grootte. Maar je hoeft dit niet te doen.

Plays and feels amazing, looks nothing like the pictures. I'm super impressed with the sound and feel, but the graphic on my model doesnt even go up to the edges of the body, the black doesnt look black at all, there's random smudges in the black paint itself, the nut is not filed down which makes it very sharp,... All in all a great sounding guitar that looks good from a distance.

Alors après avoir récupéré la guitare au point relais parce que Colissimo voulais pas en jouer et l'avais laissée ma commande à un point relais je peut dire que cette guitare est superbe. Lutherie impeccable. Frettage aussi. Et la surprise au niveau du micro qui arrache bien en saturation. Je laisse testée sur amplis à lampes Laney et Marshall DSL 5C. Et aussi sur amplis à transistor Line 6. Elle demenage dur. Vraiment une belle guitare bien sûr tout les points.

A unbeliveable well made guitar! It is hard to belive but I mean it.
Strings and tuners those are bad that is all and nothing to moan about as we are talking affordable guitars.

De Fazley Hot Rod is echt een aanrader als je op zoek bent naar een goedkope, uniek uitziende gitaar met een heerlijke sound en je niet moeilijk wilt doen met allemaal switches en knopjes. Al met al echt een aanrader en je krijgt zeer zeker waar voor je geld.
